Introduction:
The National Youth Festival is an annual event organized by Department of Youth Affairs, Government of India in collaboration with one of the State Government which hosts the National Youth Festival.
Over the years, the festival has become an important platform for young people from all parts of the country to showcase their talents, exchange ideas and engage in various cultural, social and sports activities.
During the year 1995, the year when National Youth Festival was organized for the first time, the main programme components were – (1) Competitive Events (2) Non-Competitive Events (3) Yuva Kriti (4) Suvichar (5) Food Festival (6) Young Artists Camp and (7) Adventure Camp.
Need for Restructuring:
In recent times, there has been a growing demand for the restructuring of the National Youth Festival to make it more diverse, and relevant to the needs and aspirations of young people in India.
To ensure that the festival remains relevant and effective, it is necessary to periodically review and restructure its organization and programming. This can involve changes to the festival’s theme format, activities, and outreach strategies.
